Biography
Australian soprano Jennifer Peers' list of credits includes: Peaches in Jerry Springer the Opera at the Sydney Opera House, Opera Australia's national tour of My Fair Lady, and Frieda/Betty in Sunday In The Park With George for the Q Theatre. She originated the role of Minnie Davies in the premiere of Australian musical The Hatpin, and is also featured on the cast recording.
As a cabaret artist she has performed her show, Poison Soprano, in an
acclaimed season at Statement Lounge and in various concert appearances
including Showqueen Sunday, Up Close & Musical, Moskaba and Light the
Night.
Jennifer is actively involved in the development of a number of new projects,
including workshop productions of Shoes at Sadler's Wells and 57 Hours at
the National Theatre Studio in London. She has also created roles in Every
Single Saturday (Liz) for the Australia Council, Crusade (Nun) for Kookaburra
and Palace Whore (Sarah Bernhardt) for the Short, Sweet and Song festival.
Jennifer graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2001
with a Bachelor of Music (Voice). She then continued her study at the
Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts completing a Bachelor of Arts
(Music Theatre) in 2004. In 2007, Jennifer was awarded a Buzz Grant for
emerging musicians by The Foundation for Young Australians.
Jennifer is currently living and working in London. She will next be covering
the roles of Sharon and Sophie in the UK tour of Masterclass, directed by
Jonathan Church for Theatre Royal Bath Productions.
